Workshop: Developing an AI Integration Evaluation Rubric and Measurement for Success
Description

Artificial intelligence (AI) presents significant opportunities to enhance various institutional processes in higher education. From improving administrative efficiency to transforming teaching and learning, and advancing research capabilities, AI has the potential to drive substantial value across multiple domains. However, integrating AI into these areas requires a careful assessment of the associated risks and impacts to ensure that its adoption aligns with the institution's strategic goals, ethical standards, and operational needs.

The purpose of this workshop is to foster meaningful dialogue by establishing shared definitions and creating a unified approach to assessing AI’s potential implementations. Participants will explore uses cases with a rubric designed to evaluate and classify institutional processes across three key domains— teaching/learning (pedagogy), administrative systems, and research—by determining the suitability of AI integration. It provides a structured framework for assessing how AI can be leveraged to enhance efficiency, foster innovation, and improve outcomes, while also identifying potential risks related to ethics, compliance, financial viability, and stakeholder impact.
